Following their visit to Mayor of Sendai on June 15th, the HAGI representatives; Messrs. Okazaki, Suemitsu, and Sakaida, visited the Miyagi prefectural government office and met Vice-Governor Hidekazu Miura. After reporting the success of the Japan-US Chorus Charity Concert, a part of donations collected during the concert in the amount of 3,500,000 Japanese yen (equivalent to US$45,000.00) was delivered to Mr. Miura. As himself being a proud jazz-man, vice-governor showed a strong interest in the charity concert held at Carnegie Hall, and expressed his appreciation for the support while extending his heartiest congratulations on the big success of the concert.
